Cabin heather assembly

TLDR

  • Built the cabin heater assembly
  • Installed mounting rivnut on firewall
  • Installed fan speed knob

Detail

Fan speed knob

The knob circular but has a flat slot. The panel’s hole has a match slot. So it’s easy to align the direction.

Cabin heater assembly

I first unscrewed the heater box to pry open the case. Then I inserted the bottom piece before I redid the screws. It’s curious why they build the heater with the bottom piece separated and requires this additional step.

There are 4 mounting plates that needs to go onto the heater after that. They require self-tapping screws but I couldn’t find any in the kit. So I just bought some from Amazon. The rest is pretty easy.

Hose

I bought the higher quality silicone hose from Aerospace innovations. The installation steps are identical to the rubber hose sent from Sling.

I followed the instructions from Evan’s video. The left hose needed to be cut in 2 parts to go onto both ends of the valve. The right hose just goes on directly.
