Pilot Door Window: Part 2

Pilot Door Window: Part 2

TLDR

  • Finished the pilot side door window

Fine tuning the window fitting and sanding

Spent a few hours today to fine tune the fitting of the pilot side door window. It’s a tedious work, just a lot of putting the window on the juggle, measure and mark, then sand.

I bought a 2” flap wheel for my die grinder. The original purpose was to use it for final sanding. But it’s surprisingly good to remove large chunk of material too. So I ended up using the flap wheel for almost all the trimming work.

Protecting glass and canopy

After fitting, I thoroughly cleaned the canopy juggle and the window, and tape around the corners as carefully as I could.

Activate & Prime

Applied Sika 205, 209D to prime the parts.

Glue on

Applied the Sika 295 onto the juggle and used a squeegee to flat the bead.

… Finally clamped everything together.

Waited overnight and removed some clamps to fill the gap between window and canopy.
