Clean Up in the Cockpit
TLDR
- Swapped out the throttle quadrant cover
- Installed carpet under rudder pedal

Throttle Qudrant Cover
I have been using the factory provided throttle quadrant cover since I built the component. Midwest Panel Builders sent me a much nicer cover - poweder coated, and has all markings and passener warnings printed nicely.
I swapped the old cover with the better looking one today. The work is pretty straightfoward, just unscrew a dozen M4 screws and replace the cover, then put the screws back on.
I also took this opportunity to fit the cover plate to the fuel selector. I want to find where exactly I need to drill on the fuel selector to connect the cover together with the dashboard.
I might have to grind off a little bit of fiber material from the fuel selector mounting plate to make a better fit between it and the throttle cover.
Carpet
I also installed the two pieces of carpet directly under the rudder padel.
Upholstery on this airplane is extremely difficult to understand how to install. Same for these pieces. It took me a while to guess/test how to fit them under the rudder pedel, and finally I had to crawl under the dashboard to trim the carpet and glue it on the floor. Not peasant. But the carpet really makse the airplane look polished once installed. So it’s all worth it.
